Today's blog is all about the music. I just added DMB's new studio album to my music column to your left. The single has been released and it is quite a catchy tune. My friend Karyn has a link to the song, and you can listen to it there. It's called "American Baby". I couldn't quite make up my mind on whether I liked the song or not. It was written soon after the election last November, and DMB participated in the Vote for Change Tour. At first, it seemed like the song's theme had been done before. There seems to be several patriotic, war tunes on the radio today. Being a Republican, I was expecting the lyrics to be based on a liberal viewpoint, with a few anger tones thrown in because of Bush's reelection. But that is not the case at all. As I listen to the music more, and start to really hear the lyrics, I've decided that I like it. I'm very excited about the album, due to be released May 10th.

Over the past few days, I've been addicted to a song from Jack Johnson's new cd, Belle (click to download). It's really short, but it has this awesome Bossa Nova guitar rhythm that just sounds really cool. Jack is also singing in a different language for part of it. But I'm not really concerned about the lyrics at this point. I just love the guitar work. I'll probably take some time tonight and try to learn how to play it. I can hear myself now humming a cool melody to this as I play it. Anybody have a clue on the lyrics?
