Song of the day: Dreaming's Free - Ryan Adams
I'm a huge fan of downloading stuff through Bit torrent. For those that might not know what I'm talking about, read up on it here. It really is the best way to share files. I use it mainly for downloading television shows that I miss, and for finding new music. My favorite site for downloading, Suprnova, was taken down several months ago and I've had a hard time of finding a suitable replacement. I've heard that the sites OiNK and Indietorrnets are great, but they are closed to registration and the only way to get in is to be invited. Anybody reading this have any spare invites to share?
My song of the day is by Ryan Adams (not to be confused with Bryan Adams, and Summer of '69). Ryan Adams is a guy that doesn't really fit into a specific genre, much like most other musical artists that I like. I'm beginning to wonder if there is such a genre. Take a look at the artists in my left column. Can all of these fit into one specific genre? I'm finding more often that these artists may have particular songs that might belong to a certain genre, but it gets much harder to squeeze an artist's entire work into that same genre. I think this might be why I like these bands, because they don't conform to one certain style.
Back to Ryan Adams... I've never liked him before today. I've been frequenting a new message board and I have the same musical tastes as many of the people there. Someone posted a link to an album of Adams' that had been unofficially released. The album is named Destroyer, and I've listened to it through twice today and I love it. My favorite song from the cd is Dreaming's Free, hence today's song. I'm very anxious to listen to more of his stuff now. Any other fans?
