Happy Birthday to Me!

Wow, I can't believe I am a quarter century today. The big 2-5! I woke up at 5:55 am for no apparent reason this morning. That's the exact time that I was born. I was born at the new Medical Center in Bowling Green, and I was one of the first babies ever born there. I have a tiny little t-shirt somewhere that says so, too!

I don't feel any older, but it's getting harder to realize that I'm approaching 30. Time truly does fly by. As I think back, the only birthday I really looked forward to was my 16th, and that was so that I could get my driver's license. Back then, you could get your permit on the Wednesday following your birthday. And then 4 weeks from that day, you could take the driver's test to get your license. I think teens have to wait much longer now, and it's probably a good thing. I grew up on a farm driving tractors and trucks in the field, so I was somewhat of a good driver starting out. I still have never been in an accident, besides sliding into a ditch one time when there was snow on the road.

I didn't look forward to my 18th birthday like most people do, because I didn't smoke, dip, or get Playboy mags. And I didn't look forward to my 21st birthday like nearly everybody does, because I've never been drunk in my life and I don't have a desire to. So I guess the next natural birthday to look forward to happens today, my 25th. Why? Because I just saved a ton of money on my car insurance! Please forgive me for the corny joke, but it is true.

To change the subject, I got my computer back yesterday and it's great to be back in my cube. I found an awesome job in Bowling Green that I am perfectly qualified for. I'm hoping and praying that this will be the one. It's a government job, and the transition from my current job to that one would be super easy if I were to get it. I worked on the application stuff all day yesterday and I should be able to mail it off by Monday. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
