Solar Eclipse tomorrow, April 8th!

I just found out that there will be a solar eclipse tomorrow! I'm a huge astronomy nut, and I love events like this. I always try to witness solar and lunar eclipses, comets, and meteor showers whenever they happen. I guess I'm attracted to this stuff because it's so rare and visually spectacular.

Here are some specifics for the eclipse tomorrow. It will only be a partial eclipse for the southeastern United States. I will only get to see an eclipse of 5% here in Louisville. People to the south and east will see more. Southern Florida will have the greatest eclipse in the US, with roughly 50% of the sun being covered.

I am counting down the days until August 21st, 2017. There will be a total eclipse over Bowling Green, KY, where I plan to be living 12 years from now. I've always wanted to see a total eclipse, and this will be my chance.

This is my favorite photograph of a total eclipse:

And this is the track of the total eclipse in 2017:

I really just had to go listen to 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'.

I guess my mom will have a good view tomorrow.

Do you have a time of when it will happen? I'm disappointed in Chris Allen on WBKO, he did not talk about this at all yet.

Gotta love Chris Allen.
Eclipse should start around 4:53pm central time and end around 5:40. Peak eclipse time is 5:17.
