The Muckrakers!
While I was a student at WKU, this great band formed there, and they're called "The Muckrakers". They've released two albums on a private label, and they've recently signed with a larger label. I've been to a few shows, and they're great. To me, they sound like a mix between Guster and Barenaked Ladies.
Tomorrow night, Friday July 8th, they're having a release party for their new cd at Headliner's in Louisville. It's a national release, and you'll probably start hearing their first single on the radio any day now. It's called "Through my Door". You can listen to it and three other songs from the cd at their myspace page. I added the coverart to my sidebar, and I hope to add song samples after I get a copy of the cd.
Doors open at 8, with two more local bands opening up for them. Catchpenny starts at 9, and Digby plays from 9:50 to 10:35. The Muckrakers play from 10:45 to 12:30. They put on a great show, and I encourage everybody to go. I know there are some Louisville people who read this, so I encourage you to go check them out.
$10 gets you in, and you get a copy of their cd with the ticket price.

They were playing excerpts from the cd on FOX 41 Morning News this morning. Thought of all you WKUers.
Sweet! They're really advertising the heck out of them now. They were on 840 AM the other day, doing an interview and playing some songs. Then they were on 102.3 the Max yesterday. Didn't hear them on the Max though. Headliner's is gonna be packed for this.
FOX 41 said that they were supposed to perform yesterday on the show, but because of the events in London, it had to be cancelled. They are also doing a lunch concert for 91.9 today.
