House Hunting

We looked at houses again on Thursday and Friday of last week. We've probably looked at over 20 houses now total. But we may have found the one!

We helped ourselves to a fancy lunch on Thursday, courtesy of my new employer :), then headed over to the realtor's office. We looked at a few houses that we hadn't seen yet, then we looked at our favorite houses again that we found from the first house hunting trip. Nothing really jumped out at us. Then Thursday night we went driving around by ourselves looking for houses that were for sale by owner. These obviously, don't show up in the realtor's database search.

Everytime that I had a job interview in my year-long job search, we would always drive through a certain subdivision and we dreamed of living in it. This is the subdivision that would be perfect for us. It's very convenient in that it is nearly halfway between my parents and her parents. It's also not far from our church, and it's only five to 10 minutes outside of town. It's the perfect location.

On Thursday night while driving around by ourselves, we drove through our subdivision. We found a house that was "for sale by owner". Jackpot! We called the number and the owner said he could show it to us immediately. He said he was going on vacation to Montana, leaving on Friday morning, so we could either see it then or wait a week until he made it back home. So we chose to see it then. He is currently living in a new house with his new wife, so we waited in the driveway for them to arrive. He showed us the house, and we fell in love. Three bed, two bath, and just over 1600 sq ft.

So now we're waiting until he gets home before we can make an offer. We really need to be buying a house soon, and all of this waiting has been horrible.

Ours is due in less than 4 weeks, but we don't move for another 2 weeks! Good luck with everything!! We're living parellel lives it seems, my husband just got a new job as well! :)
